What if one service company could effectively meet all of an operating facility's electrical needs, from engineering to construction to maintaining it for life?
That is the question Henry Doerksen, Doug Irvine, and Scott Petras asked themselves over a plate of wings and a pitcher of beer in early 2002. Their goal was to create a diversified service company that clients could trust to act as an extension of their own resources. They wanted to eliminate the communication barriers and inefficiencies of the traditional project delivery model. Their vision would prevent the finger-pointing between parties that so often happens at the end of a job and enable one company to take problems from napkin-sketch solutions to detailed designs, then build and maintain them for life.
The idea was well-received.
By 2004, Dynamo expanded from Saskatoon to Regina, added Doug Helmeczi as a partner, and vertically integrated their capabilities to include steel fabrication. As Dynamo continued to grow with their key clients, the engineering and construction services also expanded to provide complete turnkey design-build-maintain capabilities.
Now with additional offices in Churchbridge and Winnipeg, and a growing staff of more than one hundred people, Dynamo is an end-to-end service provider taking care of both electric utilities and a wide range of industrial clients in western Canada and beyond.
