Dynamo recently had the opportunity to host three hardworking students from the (SIIT) Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies Electrical Applied Certificate Program. They worked on panels and assisted in the shop and yard during their practicum. The future is bright for these young individuals as they step into their electrical careers!
For those that don't know the Electrical Applied Certificate program is delivered in Saskatoon and is equivalent to level one technical training. The program includes classroom and hands-on training in the trade shop, life skills training and safety tickets. Students can also complete a work practicum and can earn up to 300 hours of trade time credit toward apprenticeship.
Apprentices and Red Seal Electricians (NOC 7241) can find employment with construction companies, electrical contractors and maintenance departments of buildings and other establishments, or they may be self-employed.
