Fall protection equipment inspections are conducted daily by workers who will be using the equipment. This ensures the equipment is in good condition and can be used safely.

At Dynamo, four trained fall protection equipment inspectors have received training from 3M. During the holiday season annual inspection of fall arrest equipment, we follow a documented process and check for various criteria. For instance, the full-body harness has multiple components, including shoulder straps, chest and back straps, waist straps, leg straps, and more. We inspect each component for any cuts, holes, burns, deterioration, or paint damage. We also ensure that trauma straps are attached to the harness and check over the D-Ring(s) and buckles to ensure they are in good condition.

Additionally, we inspect the label to ensure it is legible and has all the required CSA/ANSI/OSHA markings. Once the inspection is complete, we determine whether the harness has met the passing criteria. Other equipment that we inspect includes SRL’s, SRL-LE’s, SRL-LE-R, lanyards, anchorage extenders and chokers, sliding beam anchors, tripods, and more.
