Dynamo was retained by Hudbay Minerals Inc. to refurbish two (2) 30 MVA, 115–25 kV power transformer.
Work included the removal of all mineral oil and re-gasketing of all flanged connection points including all HV and LV bushings, temperature thermal wells, cooling radiators, inspection covers, and oil piping. The transformers were placed under vacuum and dried before filling with hot, filtered oil through our mobile oil process unit suitable for refurbishing.
Once the transformers were filled, the oil was circulated to further condition the oil and transformer windings. A full set of electrical tests were completed prior to energization. Each unit was offline for ten (10) days.
