10 Months
PROJECT SUMMARY:
Evraz NA is a global steel and mining company and the leading producer of infrastructure steel products in North America. They are among the top 30 steel producers in the world and own and operate major assets in Russia and North America.
Dynamo was retained as the owner’s engineer for their new Siemens GIS switchgear. In addition to representing the owner on the project, Dynamo collaborated with Siemens to provide detailed engineering on a robust protection and control network utilizing IEC 61850.
This design required integration with existing equipment including an ABB SVC, HMI, historian, and SCADA interface. Dynamo’s Technical Service Team performed site acceptance testing on the GIS switchgear, protective devices, and all E-house control building systems. They were also responsible for the implementation of all substation protection and automation programming. All systems were successfully commissioned and safely energized with a very aggressive timeline to meet project deadlines.
