PROJECT SUMMARY:

After a fire destroyed Yara Belle Plaine’s Nitric Acid plant, Dynamo was retained to assess the extent of the damage and assist with devising a path forward to rebuild the facility.

Dynamo’s initial scope of work consisted of assessing all the damaged equipment, gathering and compiling all existing site documentation, updating all existing drawings to reflect proposed site design changes, and creating a detailed engineering/construction package for the reconstruction of the plant.

Dynamo was then contracted to complete the full reconstruction and commissioning of the new plant. This began with the complete demolition of the existing infrastructure and all associated equipment. Power and instrumentation cables were pulled back and marshalled at a common junction box. All new electrical and instrumentation devices were mounted, wired, and commissioned by Dynamo personnel.

Dynamo was retained by FWS to complete the design-build of a new, high voltage substation for the plant expansion of the Richardson International Canola Crush facility near Yorkton, SK.

Dynamo was commissioned to evaluate the electrical distribution system at Viterra’s Thunder Bay grain handling facility and to make recommendations in order to upgrade it to a “Utility Grade” standard. One of the main recommendations from this study was to change out the existing medium voltage fused disconnect style switchgear with breaker switchgear.
