SECTOR:
Agriculture
CLIENT:
Mosaic Potash Belle Plaine
DURATION OF PROJECT:
11 Months
PROJECT SUMMARY:
The scope of work consisted of the design, fabrication, and supply of a 24.6 m x 7.3 m prefabricated walk in
E-House installed at the Mosaic Potash Belle Plaine mine site. The steel skid was covered with a 100% welded, 5/16" thick checker plate floor and all steel received a white blast cleaning to SSPC-SP5/NACE No. 1 before being coated with three (3) layers of protective paint. The skid was insulated with 2 lb closed-cell medium density polyurethane foam and covered with a 26-gauge stainless steel liner.
The building erected on this skid was a structural steel skeleton design with a 16-gauge steel stud frame and two (2) layers of drywall on the exterior and interior to achieve the 2-hour fire rating requirement. The exterior was wrapped with a synthetic waterproof membrane and covered with a fibreglass reinforced panel on the walls and roof. This E-House was built to withstand the extremely corrosive potash mine environment.
